"Race for the Cure"

Saturday I was able to go down to Gateway and participate in "Race for the Cure" It was so much fun and really an awesome experience. It was amazing to see a lot of breast cancer survivors and all of their supportive friends and family. I thought it would be a more sobering event but boy was I wrong! There were the funniest t-shirts I have ever seen!! People are so weird! So my thoughts are..."If you can't beat them, join them!" We have lots of crazy ideas for next year! I have to mention, while I was running, I turned to my mom and told her my butt was jiggling! She said, "It's not jiggling, it's just waving at everyone behind you!"

Stick them out girls!!
I just had to write this on the back of Jer's shirt (Brooke's hubby)

The sea of people. Yes these are all of the people ahead of me. There are even more behind me! I do have to say though, we did get there late. :)

Sew Fun!!

Yeah, yeah, I know that title was really creative! What can I say, that's just how I am! hahaha :) I saw these dresses a little while ago at a boutique and I knew I could make them. So I did! Here are the dresses I SEWED!! My mom is so proud! hahaha! (Actually she hasn't seen them yet!)

Crazy Hair Day!

I just love these girls! They are always doing funny things, and today we get to show the world!! O has "crazy hair day"! She wanted it to stick straight up. We stuck a cup inside there to make it stand up!!

Princess Party!

The girls got invited to a princess party a little while ago. I had to take pictures because they were just soooo darn cute! I am a little sad though...Ka doesn't fit into any of our dress ups any more. She is too tall! so sad! :( Birthday Girl Ailie, K and O

Auquarium!!!

While off track we went to the Aquarium with some friends. The girls had so much fun. They loved seeing all the fish, sharks, and especially the octopus! They were a little creeped out that all of these things are in the ocean though. Hopefully they will have forgotten about it when we go to CA....probably not! Cute girls!

Thanks for coming with us! We had so much fun!

If you want to make me mad......

Yell at my kids!
A couple of weeks ago, Kaybree was off track. We decided to go see Hannah Montana. It was a really cute movie and we were totally enjoying ourselves until the lady in front of us got mad at my girls. Let me set the stage for you.
My friend (Shauna) and I took our girls to the show. We had her Ailie, my K and O, and K's little friend Bella. So there we all sat, Shauna, me, Ailie, K, Bella, O. The girls had come over to my seat during the movie to get more popcorn, then went back to their seats. Once they sat down again, the lady in front of me turned to the girls and said, "Sit down and Shut up!" My blood pressure went through the roof! I tapped her on the shoulder and said, "Don't ever talk to my kids again. If you have a problem, you can talk to me!" She turned and said, "You can't control your kids so someone has to!" Shauna piped in and said, "Lady, you are the one with the problem, so why don't you move?" The lady then turned around mumbled a few things that we couldn't hear and continued to watch the movie. To make a bad situation worse, Shauna's cell phone rang! The lady was mad. She jumped out of her seat and left the theatre. She came back a few minutes later with the manager! The manager stood at the bottom of the stairs and watched the audience for the last 20 minutes of the movie! As the movie ended, we quickly gathered our stuff in hopes that we could leave before the lady and avoid another confrontation. (I HATE CONFRONTATION!) We got down the stairs and the girls wanted to dance in front of the movie screen. We let them because we were far enough away from the lady that it wouldn't be a problem. As the girls danced, the lady just sat there watching. We decided we had better go after the first song. As we left, the lady was right on our heels. We got to the doors of our theatre and the managers were standing there (THANK HEAVENS!) I stood there next to them just in case the lady started yelling again. As she passed us she said, "you are a pathetic mother!" She glared and continued walking. Shauna and I were so amazed at this woman carrying on the way she was in front of her 13ish year old daughter! I apologized to the managers for having to come watch us. I really didn't think my girls had done anything wrong! The managers told me that the lady said the girls were kicking her seat and pulling her hair the entire movie! I know absolutely that they had not! Let me just say, I am not one of those mom's where their kids can do no wrong. I will be the first to admit that my kids aren't always angel's but come on now, they don't even pull each others hair let alone some strange lady's! And kicking the seats NO They loved the movie, every time I looked down, all four faces were glued to the screen! Oh and the lady was in front of me!! I know I wasn't kicking her seat! My only thoughts are that they must have bumped her seat as they came and got more popcorn the ONE time! Oh but the drama doesn't end there! After Shauna and I vented to the managers and each other for about five minutes, we left. Shauna was parked on the west side of the building and I on the east. As I went out to the parking lot, I was looking all around making sure the crazy lady wasn't there. I didn't see her. I got the three girls in the car. They were having trouble with the seat belts, so I reached in to help. With my butt hanging out of the car, I hear her voice! I jumped down and shut the door. The lady said, "If you can't control yourself during a movie how do you expect your kids to control themselves? You B*@#%!!" Then she drove away before I could even say one word! Seriously, I was just flabbergasted! You know after something happens you think, I should have done this, or I should have said that? Well, I've got nothing! There is nothing I could have said to this lady! She was just flat out crazy! I think she just wanted to be mad! Of course there are those things that come to mind that I would never say in front of my kids, but nothing I could have said would make this situation better!

According to O!

"Breaking News Aunt Brookey, Taylor Swift is coming to EARTH, she is going to have a CANCER, and it's going to be really good!!!"

Now, don't go spreading rumors because I do have the translation: Taylor Swift is coming to UTAH. She is going to have a CONCERT, and it's going to be really good!! :)

O my big girl!

My baby got her ears pierced today!!!! I can't believe how big she is getting!! I wish we could freeze time right here, right now! I just love the stages that both my girls are in! Yeah, we have our good and bad days, but really we just have fun! Love these girls! Before.....
After!!!

I told her she was so brave, she said "no I wasn't, I cried!" Really she was so brave! She sat there in that chair waiting to get her ears pierced and wasn't even scared! I'm just glad that they pierced both ears at the same time!!!

Our little support system!!

Easter Day! (NOT FOR KIDS TO READ!)

Easter morning was an interesting one....K woke up at 5:00am completely terrified that the Easter bunny had been to our house!! She is my very logical child. She thinks things through way too much! Easter Bunny, Leprechauns, Santa, the Tooth Fairy, and she doesn't like any of them! She hates the idea of someone being in our house while we are sleeping... that IS a pretty scary thought! Anyway, she was trembling from head to toe. It was so sad! The night before I told her that I would stay awake to let the Easter bunny in and let him out too. It obviously wasn't enough. I think next year that stupid rabbit will just doorbell ditch the baskets and call it good! On the other hand, O loves everything! She was so upset that K didn't want the Easter Bunny to come! She loves the Easter Bunny, Leprechauns, Santa, and the Tooth Fairy! So, what do I do? Do I tell Kaybree the realities of life, or deal with a terrified child every holiday?

After all the DRAMA.... The girls truly loved their baskets!
Happy Easter all y'all!!!

Easter Egg Hunt!!

Saturday, Bryce's mom had a big Easter egg hunt! She filled over 500 eggs with candy!!! The kids were definitely on a sugar high!!! They loved it!!

Vegas Baby!!!!

Monday, after the funeral, we left for VEGAS Baby!!!! We had a blast! We met up with our friends Anthony and Shauna. We were supposed to leave with them on Sunday, but had to go to the funeral instead. Anyway, we met up with them, and didn't stop until we left Friday night! Seriously, I can't remember a more fun trip!
Monday night we got there late, so went straight to bed!
Tuesday, we slept in, (ahh...) got up and went shopping at the Town Square. (South end of the strip.) After Town Square, we hit the Premium outlets (North end of the strip) Let me just say.....OH MY GOSH!!! Best outlets I have ever been to!!! We (Shauna and I) shopped and the boys hit the casino! We went to dinner later at PF Chang's, then we hit the strip to see the Bellagio fountains and the Mirage volcano. (We didn't see the TI show. Bryce and I saw it last year and it is a bit naughty so DO NOT take your kids!) After the strip, we went back to our hotel and hot tubbed!
Wednesday, we slept in again! We went to Cheesecake Factory, did some shopping and then went to PHANTOM of the Opera! It was soooo much fun! That was the first show I have ever seen!!! I loved it!! After Phantom, we hit Outback Steakhouse, then back to our hotel for midnight bowling! Sad though, the bowling had a 1 1/2 hour wait, so what do you do in Vegas? Hit the tables!! We went and played craps and won some money!!! We were on fire!! :)
Thursday, more shopping of course...Chili's for dinner, then we saw Duplicity. None of us liked it very much, but then again, we were practically asleep!!!
Friday, slept in, checked out, drove to St. George, shopped, drove home.........TOO MUCH FUN!!!
Thanks Aunt Brookey and Uncle Jer for taking the kids!! It was a much needed vacation!!!

Anthony, Shauna, Me and Bryce at Phantom

Grandma Leah

Last Monday we attended the funeral service for Bryce's Grandma, Grandma Leah. It was actually a very good funeral. I really didn't know her very well, and it was fun to hear of a whole different side of her than what I experienced! She has been dying for a very long time! She almost died while Bryce was on his mission. Ever since then, her kids have been taking turns taking care of her. She would live at Bryce's parents house for 3 months of the year. I saw her often, but it wasn't a great quality of life. It was refreshing to have a different image in my head of how she used to be.

Don't Be Surprised....

So the other morning as Bryce was leaving for work, he said, "Don't be surprised if I come home with a new golf club!" I thought those were funny words. I mean who says, "Don't be surprised if I come home with a new golf club" rather than "I was thinking I'd get a new golf club today" He obviously wasn't asking my permission (which he shouldn't have to) but rather telling me in an odd way that today he was going to get a new golf club. I really didn't think about it after he left. I just went about my day grocery shopping, Costco shopping, when all of the sudden I stumbled upon these awesome pictures at Costco. They have been there before, but I've always thought I should ask Bryce first before buying one. As you might have guessed, his words rang in my ears!!! "DON'T BE SURPRISED!!" So, don't be surprised that I bought a picture for my house!!! :) HaHaHa!! I still can't figure out why he was surprised!!!

Hello Smart Cookie!!!

OH MY GOSH!!! My new favorite thing right now is "SMART COOKIE" My friend Allison introduced me to them! If you haven't had one, you are seriously missing out!!! They are located in American Fork. If you feel the urge to go get one (I suggest you do) call me first so I can put in my order too!!! :)

3 Weeks In A Nut Shell!

I know, I know....I haven't blogged in a while! I promise I will do better. My excuse is, Bryce has been out of town (during the week) for the past three weeks!! So to make a long story short...I have been Mom and Dad here at the Newbold residence!
Here are the girls being silly as usual. They decided to put every bow in their hair! Looks like some old fashioned swim cap huh?!!!

One of the weeks, we decided to go stay up at Grandma and Grandpa's house!! We had so much fun!! We ended up getting a kite, taking it to Draper Park. We had a great day soaking up the sun, flying the kite, and rolling down the hill!

We had two reels of string tied together!! Our kite was so high I couldn't take a picture of it!!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for keeping us entertained!!

About three weeks ago we had our friends from Huntington up! We always have so much fun together!! Obviously Easton thinks the same thing!!!! No really, we love it when they come to stay!! Easton just didn't want a picture with all the girls!! hahaha! That will change soon enough!

All the girls ready for bed in their matching pj's!! (not planned by the way!)
