After I got the phone call last Monday from the nurse saying I may have lupus, they scheduled me an appointment for that Thursday. I went in, they told me exactly what the nurse said on the phone. They said that my ANA's came back positive, and they also ran a test called a double stranded DNA test. It came back positive too. the Dr. said that 98% of positive double stranded DNA patients have lupus. They can't figure out why I don't have any symptoms. (I think it is because I am the 2% that doesn't actually have it) So along with the obvious signs of lupus, lupus also attacks your organs. Another confusing thing for the Dr.'s is that my SGOT levels came back normal this time. That is the first test I had that was high indicating that I may have heart, kidney, or liver damage. Well it came back normal this time meaning it was high due to surgery, that my organs are fine. So, I have no symptoms, and my organs are fine. The Dr. said he wanted to rule out all organs, so he ordered a colonoscopy for Monday the 20th. This is where it gets fun!! hahaha So Sunday, I had to do the colonoscopy prep....let me just say that was great fun....I am exactly 3 pounds full of sh......crap! hahaha Monday I went in for the colonoscopy. They sedated me so I could not remember a thing!! Seriously, it wasn't bad at all!! It took all of 20 minutes! All I remember was going back into the procedure room, they put something in my IV, I started to feel loopy....I remember telling the Dr. that he had a crappy job.....then nothing! After the procedure, the Dr. wheeled me out to Bryce. He told Bryce, "You have a shopper on your hands. All she talked about was Nordstrom's and Kneaders!" Bryce thought that was pretty funny!! (I say, it is obvious that I went to my happy places!!) Well the Dr. told us that I have a very HEALTHY colon! There was nothing wrong there either!! I told the Dr. , "condoms are 99.8% effective, and you hear of people getting pregnant all of the time off of condoms!! So there is definitely a chance that I could be this 2%" he didn't exactly know how to respond to that...... hahaha

Here's What is Going On With Me....
So back in February, I had that cyst that ruptured. Well after the surgery they wanted me to come in a few weeks later and have a follow up appointment. So I went in, they had no record of my blood being drawn since I had Oakley, so they wanted to run the normal tests. A week later they called and said that my SGOT levels were high. This means I was showing signs of heart, kidney, or liver damage. They told me they wanted me to go see an Internal Medicine Dr. I got an apt. The internal Dr. said that it was possible that these SGOT levels were high due to my recent surgery. (duh! Why am I here than!) He said he would like me to come back in a month and do more blood work to compare the two. Well, I really didn't think anything of it. One month from my appointment would have been while we were in Disneyland, so of course I didn't go. Well last week Bryce reminded me that I still had not gone back in, so I did. (I didn't need an appointment for the blood draw, I could just go in.) Well, the nurse called back on Monday and said that there were more abnormalities with my blood work, something was wrong with my ANA's. (???) The nurse said that is possible that I may have lupus! They are not sure, they want more blood tests! I googled lupus, and I have NONE of the symptoms, so I really think these Dr.'s are up in the night.
I am a little irritated with the whole situation because I feel FINE! I hate going to the Dr. and especially when I feel like nothing is wrong. I feel like they are going to drag me through all these test just to say, hmmm... we don't know why your blood is the way it is! I feel like an opposite hypochondriac! They think something is wrong with me and I do not! And personally I would rather spend my money on other things rather than copay's when nothing is wrong! I have another apt for tomorrow to give them more of my blood, but I will actually be talking with the Dr. this time. I will keep you all updated. Does anyone know anyone with lupus?
