If you want to make me mad......

Yell at my kids!
A couple of weeks ago, Kaybree was off track. We decided to go see Hannah Montana. It was a really cute movie and we were totally enjoying ourselves until the lady in front of us got mad at my girls. Let me set the stage for you.
My friend (Shauna) and I took our girls to the show. We had her Ailie, my K and O, and K's little friend Bella. So there we all sat, Shauna, me, Ailie, K, Bella, O. The girls had come over to my seat during the movie to get more popcorn, then went back to their seats. Once they sat down again, the lady in front of me turned to the girls and said, "Sit down and Shut up!" My blood pressure went through the roof! I tapped her on the shoulder and said, "Don't ever talk to my kids again. If you have a problem, you can talk to me!" She turned and said, "You can't control your kids so someone has to!" Shauna piped in and said, "Lady, you are the one with the problem, so why don't you move?" The lady then turned around mumbled a few things that we couldn't hear and continued to watch the movie. To make a bad situation worse, Shauna's cell phone rang! The lady was mad. She jumped out of her seat and left the theatre. She came back a few minutes later with the manager! The manager stood at the bottom of the stairs and watched the audience for the last 20 minutes of the movie! As the movie ended, we quickly gathered our stuff in hopes that we could leave before the lady and avoid another confrontation. (I HATE CONFRONTATION!) We got down the stairs and the girls wanted to dance in front of the movie screen. We let them because we were far enough away from the lady that it wouldn't be a problem. As the girls danced, the lady just sat there watching. We decided we had better go after the first song. As we left, the lady was right on our heels. We got to the doors of our theatre and the managers were standing there (THANK HEAVENS!) I stood there next to them just in case the lady started yelling again. As she passed us she said, "you are a pathetic mother!" She glared and continued walking. Shauna and I were so amazed at this woman carrying on the way she was in front of her 13ish year old daughter! I apologized to the managers for having to come watch us. I really didn't think my girls had done anything wrong! The managers told me that the lady said the girls were kicking her seat and pulling her hair the entire movie! I know absolutely that they had not! Let me just say, I am not one of those mom's where their kids can do no wrong. I will be the first to admit that my kids aren't always angel's but come on now, they don't even pull each others hair let alone some strange lady's! And kicking the seats NO They loved the movie, every time I looked down, all four faces were glued to the screen! Oh and the lady was in front of me!! I know I wasn't kicking her seat! My only thoughts are that they must have bumped her seat as they came and got more popcorn the ONE time! Oh but the drama doesn't end there! After Shauna and I vented to the managers and each other for about five minutes, we left. Shauna was parked on the west side of the building and I on the east. As I went out to the parking lot, I was looking all around making sure the crazy lady wasn't there. I didn't see her. I got the three girls in the car. They were having trouble with the seat belts, so I reached in to help. With my butt hanging out of the car, I hear her voice! I jumped down and shut the door. The lady said, "If you can't control yourself during a movie how do you expect your kids to control themselves? You B*@#%!!" Then she drove away before I could even say one word! Seriously, I was just flabbergasted! You know after something happens you think, I should have done this, or I should have said that? Well, I've got nothing! There is nothing I could have said to this lady! She was just flat out crazy! I think she just wanted to be mad! Of course there are those things that come to mind that I would never say in front of my kids, but nothing I could have said would make this situation better!

I have been waiting for this post because of a recent "status" of yours. Can I just say....SOME PEOPLE! What a JERK, to put it nicely! She is the one that needs to learn some parenting skills. What a poor example she set for her own daughter.

That is so crazy! You get so defensive over your kids when someone, especially an adult, says things like that! I would have punched her in the nose! jk It's sad the example she is giving her own daughter who will most likely turn out just like her mother! Ooohhh. I can't believe that happened! All she would have had to do is ask you nicely to see if your girls could be a little quieter or something. Wow. Very entertaining story!
