1st Day of School!

Yes that is right, we have already started our first day of school! Kaybree is so excited to be a third grader this year, and Oakley is just as excited to begin first grade! Oakley is going to be doing things a little different this year...she is going to be learning Chinese! Oakley was accepted into the Chinese Immersion program at our school! So if you see her, and can't understand a thing she is saying, just smile and say "Ni Hao!" (knee how)

What is summer without swimming? Well, we wouldn't know! We have been doing lots of swimming this year! We are loving our new rec center!

Summer Bake Sale!

The girls have been asking me all summer to have a bake sale like the one we did last year. I finally committed! The girls sold mint brownies, rice krispy treats, cookies, and drinks! Our cute neighbors joined us with some fabulous cake pops! The kids banked...they totaled $86.00! They were beyond thrilled!

4th of July at Lake Powell!

I don't know why, but I really didn't take many pictures of our Lake Powell trip! :( We had a blast doing all the Lake Powell musts...water skiing, wake boarding, knee boarding, tubing, water weenie rides, & Rainbow Bridge!! Just too fun!

The dinosaur print by the bridge! Grandpa poured water in it and then got in trouble. Apparently the used to do that in the olden days, but no longer allow it! Oops!

Because the 4th of July was on a Monday, we traveled home that day. I think we will do that from now on because our neighbor puts on an annual firework display. It was like one I've never seen before! He said he spent over $1200 of fireworks this year! It was amazing! Thanks Conners!

Field Trips!

Both the girls had field trips to finish up their school year! I am very grateful to be able to go with my girls on these fun adventures!

California and Disneyland!

In May, we went to California with my family. We had so much fun! We did Disneyland, went to an Angels baseball game, relaxed, and just played! It came and went way too quickly!

World of Color! That is definitely a must see!

The kids before going on "Tower of Terror" Oakley wanted to go, but then changed her mind right before the ride. It was too late to take her off the ride so she had to endure! If looks could kill we would have all been dead! She vows to never go on that ride again! I think she secretly enjoyed it though!

2nd Grade Spelling Bee!

Not only is she cute, she has brains too! Kaybree took 4th place in the 2nd grade spelling bee! Her conquering word was "consequently"! For the record, I just had to spell check that one too! hahaha! We are proud of you bug!

In April we had Easter! We are so lucky to have two amazing families that love to party! We seriously were busy the entire Easter weekend! Too much fun!

The O Turned 6!

Oakley turned six back in February! Being the awesome blogger I am, I am only now just getting around to updating! I didn't want to miss the opportunity to tell this little peanut how much we love her and how glad we are that she is in our family! Love you Oakley! Happy Birthday Baby!

Dang Leprechauns!

Those pesky little creatures hit our house again this year! They came in the middle of the day...left a gold coin trail from the front door to the kitchen table... and overturned all the bar stools and chairs along the way! Once they got the the table the must have walked in green paint somewhere and left footprints on the table! That is not all they left though, they left us more gold coins and some Lucky Charms! So I guess those pesky guys aren't soooo bad!

Birthday party of the YEAR!!!

Or should I say, "the ONLY birthday party of the year!" This year I thought we should do a combined birthday party for the girls....you might be wondering what I was thinking, so here is the logic! We started planning Kaybree's birthday party. Her birthday is December 30th and everyone is usually out of town, or coming home the day or weekend of her bday. In the past I've always planned her party for a week or two later. This year we were also planning her baptism, so that pushed the bday party back even further. Oakley's birthday is February 9th. I knew I would be doing another birthday party very shortly after this one. Since Oakley was totally on board with all of Kaybree's ideas, we decided we may as well combine! Well, I told the girls that they could each invite as many girls as their age...Kaybree 8, Oakley 6...total 14....right? Well, one thing lead to another and I hate for feelings get hurt, so we ended up with a grand total of 28! Yep you read that right....28 little girls! We invited 28 girls over for a pajama, pizza, and pedicure party!!! I don't have a picture of me doing pedicures, but let me just tell you.....painting 280 toes takes FOREVER! This is definitely going to be a party my girls will remember! That's what it's all about right?!
